Four Lighten-Gale Group clients received tax credit allocations from Chicago’s Department of Housing (DOH) for their 2007 tax credit round. Lighten-Gale Group assisted with the underwriting and submission of all four applications. The successful applicants are:

A joint venture of Source Works Development and a non-profit affiliate of the Apostolic Church received both a tax credit allocation and loan commitment for its 90-unit Hancock House project. This new construction project will serve independent seniors in the 34th Ward. |

Safeway
Construction received a tax credit award for its Keeler Apartments project, a 26-unit rehab of a vacant building on the corner of Keeler and Roosevelt Road. The 26 units will serve low income individuals and families as well as provide renovated first floor commercial space. |

The
YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago received both an allocation for tax credits and a loan commitment for a rehab of its 292 room SRO in the Austin community. This supportive housing project serves the formerly homeless and individuals at risk of homelessness. |

A joint venture of
Lawndale Christian Development Corporation , Safeway Construction, and Westside Federation of Chicago received an allocation for the Dr. Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King Jr. Apartments. This will be an 80-unit new construction project serving families and grand-families in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. |
