WVON, 1450 AM, successfully closed on the financing for its new broadcasting building. The financing for the project includes a ShoreBank loan and City of Chicago TIF assistance. Going up at 1000 E. 87th Street, a prior SoftSheen headquarters, the new station boasts a glass-walled state-of-the-art studio that will let passers-by see the on-air personalities at work. Lighten-Gale Group assembled the TIF financing for the project and is assisting with the project management. WVON will go live from its new location this fall.
